An article published and deleted by Forbes is catching major heat! On Sunday (July 14), hours after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump — which left him with a grazed ear, a gunman dead, one male attendee dead, and two others critically injured — Forbes’ ‘DEI expert’ Shuan Harper published an interesting take on 45 surviving gunfire and wanting more Black voters.
The article was titled ‘Will Surviving Gunfire Be Donald Trump’s Next Appeal To Black Voters?’ and was published by Forbes contributor Shaun Harper, who described himself as “a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) expert.”
In the controversial article, Donald Trump’s assassination attempt is covered, including mentions of where the incident took place, how the former president “narrowly escaped bloody,” and how spokesman Steven Cheung released a statement confirming Trump was “doing fine” and had “check outed of a local medical facility.”
The article also mentions how the gunman was dead, and how one attendee was dead, with another in serious condition. However, things take a turn as the article asks, “Will Trump seize the apparent assassination attempt against him as an opportunity to meaningfully address the epidemic of gun violence in America? Will he deem unacceptable the dangers to which citizens are exposed as they go to schools, places of religious worship, concerts, movie theaters, supermarkets, shopping malls, sporting events, and now, presidential campaign rallies? It’s possible, but unlikely.”
The post continues to analyze the city in which the shooting took place (Butler, PA — less than an hour north of Pittsburgh). The analysis continues by looking into gun violence studies done in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia — described as “big cities with large numbers of Black Americans” and “inexcusably high levels of gun violence.”
The article then mentions Trump’s August 3023 mugshot and how he grew closer to Black voters having been arrested — a narrative the article states Trump has “relied on to persuade” more Black voters this November. Playing coy, the article then states, “Hopefully, being shot doesn’t become a similarly problematic strategy to link Trump with an experience that far too many (not all) Black people have.”
