Popeyes In Washington DC Shut Down After Viral Video Shows Rats Swarming Kitchen

A Popeyes restaurant in Washington D.C is shut down due to health code violations after a viral video showed rats swarming the kitchen.

A notice was posted on the front door of the Popeyes restaurant located at 409 8th St. SE shows officials shut down the restaurant Thursday, just about two weeks after the video was posted on TikTok.

In the video, a man who says he delivers raw chicken to that particular Popeyes gave his viewers the inside scoop on what goes down at the Eastern Market location, where several rats are running through the kitchen.

“You still love that chicken from Popeyes?” The man says, mocking the company’s famous commercial.

The video has been shared over a thousand times and now social media users are in an uproar and have tweeted some nasty things about Popeyes chicken.
