Universal executive, Steven Victor, shared a post on Instagram confirming the news that his album is going to be delayed due to recent events and out of respect for the current movement. Despite that, Victor did note that Pop’s first single from the project “Make it Rain” will be released on Friday. His album will officially drop on July 3rd.

“Music is the tool of revolution. We have been watching, along with the rest of the world, as long overdue change starts to take root. We have seen Pop’s music become the soundtrack of the moment, unifying the masses,” Victor explained. He added, “Given recent events, we have decided to delay the release of his album out of respect for the movement. “Make It Rain” will be released this Friday, June 12th. The album will be released on July 3rd. Please join us in celebrating Pop Smoke’s legacy.”

As we previously reported, Pop Smoke was shot and killed back in February. Initially it was reported that he was murdered during a home invasion robbery. However, reports later stated that it was a targeted attack. His killer has yet to be arrested.
