A Polish karaoke game show is going viral and sparking backlash after a contestant was spotted wearing Blackface and using the n-word to imitate Compton, California rapper Kendrick Lamar. Additionally, it’s reported that other contestants on the show have also performed as Snoop Dogg, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Tina Turner, Kanye West and even Beyoncé, in full Blackface.

The Polish karaoke game show, titled ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar,’ features eight celebrities portraying music icons for the chance to win money for a charity of their choice. In the game, contestants have to resemble the artist that they’re imitating as much as possible, but it looks like people are taking things a little too far.
In one of the latest episodes of the game, Polish singer Kuba Szmajkowski took on the role of Kendrick Lamar, and ended up hopping out on the stage in full Blackface, performing the Compton rapper’s 2017 hit song “HUMBLE.”
In one video clip going viral across all of social media, Szmajkowski is seen with a brown skin complexion and a feeble attempt at some straight back braids (or cornrows), rapping to the song. Szmajkowski got so carried away with his role of portraying Lamar, that at one point during the song, he even reportedly let the n-word slip out no the Polish game show.

After trying to pull out all of the stops to resemble Kendrick Lamar as best as he could, Blackface and all, Szmajkowski’s hot shot performance happened to win him the second episode of the Polish game karaoke show’s 19th season. After being crowned the winner, Szmajkowski had his prize money earnings donated to the Przystań Nadziei Foundation, which aids children with cancer.
Despite Szmajkowski’s racist gimmick, yet prize-winning performance, allowing for a donation to children battling cancer, social media was NOT here for how he made the whole thing happen. Quickly people took to their respective social accounts and criticized the Polish singer in Blackface.

Another person wrote, “[This is happening] because it’s the norm in all these Slavic countries!! It’s been going on FOR A LONG DAMN TIME, and they think it’s COOL, because we definitely complain about it!!!”
