Police Bodycam Footage Shows Officers Struggling With Chad Wheeler

New bodycam footage revealed the moment where police officers struggled to arrest NFL lineman Chad Wheeler after he violently assaulted his then-girlfriend Alleah Taylor.

The footage dated Jan.22 shows police officers approaching Wheeler’s home in Kent, Washington after Taylor contacted 911 stating he tried to end her life while strangling her and assaulting her repeatedly. According to TMZ, once officers entered the home, the clip goes black due to legal reasons but one officer is heard yelling at Wheeler telling him to put his hands behind his back and threatens to hurt him. During the confrontation, officers tell him that he is resisting arrest and Wheeler says, “Please don’t shoot me.”

As officers continue to yell at Wheeler, he pleas for Taylor and says, “Alleah, please … Alleah … please I love you … Please stop … I love you … Alleah.” As we previously reported, officers described how they had a hard time restraining the NFL player during the arrest, and tasing him was very ineffective.

He was finally arrested during the struggle and Wheeler was charged with domestic violence assault along with several other charges. Wheeler blamed the vicious assault on Taylor due to a “manic episode.”

A trial has been set for June 1 and Wheeler will appear in court on March 18.
