A pizza delivery driver shot three men who tried to rob him late Monday night in east Charlotte.
Police say that the delivery driver, who was carrying a pistol, called 911 to report the robbery and shooting near the 3300 block of Magnolia Hill Drive around 11:50 p.m. He told the police that four people tried to rob him as he attempted to deliver food to the apartment complex.
Neighbor Evelyn Ramirez reported that she heard shots at the time of the incident,
“I kind of peeked out the window, and I saw there was a red car out there with a sign, like a delivery truck, so I called 911,” Ramirez said.
According to WSOC-TV officers discovered an assault-style rifle believed to have been used in the attempted robbery, however, they later discovered that it was just a toy.
Luckily, the pizza delivery driver was not hurt, but the suspects were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
