A group of white students at a couple of Catholic schools in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania have gone viral after posing in blackface and sending racist language videos to Black students … during Black History Month.
Philadelphia Catholic School Students Pose In Blackface & Send Racist Language Videos To Black Students
While everyone should be celebrating Black people, their history, and culture overall, a group of students from Saint Hubert Catholic High School for Girls and Franklin Towne Charter High School are now being condemned after taking part in several racist videos.
In the videos, a group of white students are seen making racist comments and spraying, what appears to be body paint, on another girl, painting her face black.
In another video, a white female student is seen wearing a durag and claiming, “I got the durag on, I got the power to say n***a.

Officials from Saint Hubert Catholic High School for Girls confirmed that three of their students were indeed involved in the “disappointing” videos.
They released a statement condemning the “racially charged” images and said they view “racism as a mortal sin, with no place for it in our hearts and minds.” The schools says the issue is being investigated and students involved will be disciplined in accordance to the school’s handbook.

Meanwhile, over at Franklin Towne Charter High School, officials there also confirmed some of their students were involved in the racist videos as well.
The school’s statement read in part, “We are both saddened and appalled by the events surrounding the racist video that has been seen on social media. We want to again take this opportunity to condemn this type of hateful behavior and condemn anyone involved in it.
Franklin Towne is a school that values inclusion and will not tolerate hate in any manner. The former student who took part in this video and any other students who may choose to participate in this type of behavior have no place at our school. The content of this video does not reflect the values and culture of our Towne family.”
Since the racist language and blackface videos have surfaced online, the schools, plus The Archdiocese of Philadelphia have spoken out, and several anti-racism protests have sparked outside the schools, and around the city.
