Petty PETA Selling Pete Davidson Halloween Costume Inspired By His F-Bomb Voicemail Moment

Yikes! Petty PETA is back at it again! The animal rights organization is coming for Pete Davidson as they are now selling a Halloween costume inspired by his f-bomb voicemail moment earlier this year.

If you need a quick refresher, back in June, the 29-year-old comedian and actor was busted going all the way off on PETA in a voicemail shared online. In the f-bomb-laced voicemail, Davidson took aim for Daphna Nachminovitch, the Senior VP of Cruelty Investigations over at PETA, who shamed him for not adopting his new dog.

The month before, Davidson and his then-girlfriend and actress Chase Sui Wonders were spotted buying a new cavapoo puppy from Manhattan’s Citipups. At the time, it was reported that the dog was from a breeder. We’d later learn that Davidson was looking for a puppy because his family’s dog Henry had recently passed away at 2 years old, and he needed a special breed as his mom is allergic to dogs.

Following the news, Nachminovitch spoke with TMZ and revealed how disappointed she was after learning that the former ‘Saturday Night Live‘ star purchased his new dog from a pet store, versus adopting a pup from an animal shelter.

In the original statement from PETA’s Senior VP of Cruelty Investigations, she claimed how badly she and the company wanted Davidson to “show some big heart energy” and rescue a new dog from an adoption center instead of using his big bucks to purchase a dog at a pet store, which are some times known for sourcing their animals from cruel mills.

Nachminovitch said, “It’s tragic that Pete didn’t seek out a borough-born mutt from a city animal shelter, because a scrappy New Yorker with charm, personality, and unconventional handsomeness could have been his perfect match. Since shelters in New York and across the country are overflowing with homeless animals, PETA urges Pete to show some big heart energy by adopting, not shopping, in the future.”

PETA also shared their empathy to Davidson and family: “Our hearts go out to the Davidson family for the loss of their dog, but Pete must know in his heart that there’s no excuse for buying a dog and propping up the puppy mill industry when millions of dogs await loving homes in shelters, and we hope he’ll do the right thing and adopt next time.”

After catching wind of Nachminovitch’s unwanted remarks, Davidson chose to go to war with her and fired off an f-bomb-laced voicemail. In his message, Davidson said, “My mom’s f**king dog who is 2 years old died a week before so we’re all so sad, so I had to get a specific dog. So why don’t you do your research before you f**king create news stories for people because you’re boring…” He added, “F**k you and suck my d**k.”

Responding to Davidson’s VM, petty PETA said, “If Pete had done his research, he would know that there’s no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog, that at least a quarter of dogs in shelters are purebreds, and that Petfinder has listings for homeless dogs of every breed under the sun, including the one he purchased.”

TMZ said the contacted the comedian after his f-bomb message and he admitted he was unaware he could “adopt a specific hypoallergenic dog,” and was told “it wasn’t an option, and if it was, it was rare.”

He also addressed his anger, explaining, “I haven’t seen my mom and sister cry like that in over 20 years. I was trying to cheer up my family. I was already upset that the store had filmed me without my permission or acknowledgement. Then this organization (PETA) made a public example of us, making our grieving situation worse. I am upset. It was a poor choice of words. I shouldn’t have said what I said, but I am not sorry for standing up for myself and my family.”

Since all of the drama from June, petty PETA has hopped into their petty bag and is now selling a Halloween costume inspired by Pete Davidson and his viral moment.

While cashing in on Pete Davidson’s angry and unhinged voicemail, PETA’s released a limited-edition costume that comes with a paper mask of the comedian’s face, a hoodie that says, “I Should Have Adopted,” and a hat with a censored curse word — all referring to his f-bomb-laced voicemail.

The petty PETA costume also comes with a plush dog that’s wearing a “Shelter Dogs Rule” bandana. The whole get up is retailing at $99.99, and all proceeds are going toward spay and neuter surgeries to help with the overpopulation of homeless dogs. The animal organization says there are over 70 million homeless dogs and cats in the U.S., and breeders are only further contributing to the crisis.

According to PETA President Ingrid Newkirk, “It’s too late for Pete to undo his puppy purchase or that voice mail, but it’s never too late to save a dog’s life by choosing adoption and shunning pet shops and other dog breeders.” Newkirk also hopes Davidson will see people dressing up as him as a joke and applaud them doing it for a good cause.

However, sources tell TMZ, “[He thinks] it’s disgusting they’d capitalize on someone’s mental health and not to mention illegal to use his likeness”

  1. Calling Pete out for purchasing a purebred is not petty while there are untold numbers of animals, including cavapoos, waiting in shelters for a home.
