While speaking with Fallon, Davidson revealed he wants to get rid of most of his tattoos but wants to keep at least 2 or 3. “I’ve been burning them off,” he explained. “They burn off a layer of your skin, then it has to heal for six to eight weeks,” the actor continued. “You can’t get in the sunlight. And then you’ve got to do it, like, 12 more times.” When asked why he covered his body in multiple tattoos, Davidson stated that he was a “sad boy,” according to TOO FAB.

He has been working on removing his tattoos since 2021. “But I’m trying to clean slate it. Trying to be an adult,” Davidson continued. The comedian also reminisced about his SNL days, touching on the show’s upcoming 50th anniversary. In a separate interview with TODAY, Davidson said another reason he decided to remove his tattoos to progress in his sobriety journey.

“I got sober and I saw myself in the mirror and I was like, ‘Nah. Who that?’ I was like, ‘I got to change it up a little bit.'”

In July 2024, Davidson checked into a wellness facility to seek treatment after he was addressing concerns related to PTSD and borderline personality disorder.
