The Pentagon has released three short videos of UFOs months after the Navy denied the authenticity of its contents last year.

CNN reports the videos were recorded on infrared cameras where the unidentified objects moved at a rapid speed. Two videos show personnel observing the objects and speculating whether they were drones. Pentagon spokesperson Sue Gogh said in a statement that the military base decided to release the videos in order to clear up any misconceptions:

“In order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos. After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.”

There are now guidelines outlined by the Navy on how pilots can report UFO sightings.

“These kinds on incursions can be both a security risk and pose a safety hazard for both Navy and Air Force aviation. For safety and security concerns, the Navy and the USAF takes these reports very seriously and investigates each and every report.”
