The Pentagon has rejected Trump’s request for a military-style farewell parade as his last day in office is rapidly approaching.

President Trump previously requested that he wanted his exit from Washington D.C. to be extravagant involving a military-style parade as his supporters cheer from the sidelines. However, Pentagon officials rejected the idea and said there were no plans of a military send off for Trump. It was unclear if he wanted the parade at the White House since he publically announced that he will not be in attendance at President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20.

As of Sunday, Trump still hasn’t conceded that he lost the election and continued to allege that voter fraud played a role in his loss. He has acknowledged that there will be a peaceful transition of power before his exit.

He also refused to participate in rituals that former Presidents participate in such as leaving a letter of advice and having a personal conversation. Due to the insurrection that occurred on Jan.6, Biden’s inauguration will be closed to the public and over 20,000 troops were deployed to prevent any potential threats.
