The Hollywood world has lost another star.

Paul Sorvino, the well-respected actor who’s known for his roles playing crooks and cops like Paulie Cicero in “Goodfellas” and the NYPD sergeant Phil Cerretta on “Law & Order,” has sadly passed away. The actor’s publicist Roger Neal confirmed the news of his passing and shared that he died this morning in Indiana of natural causes. His wife, Dee Dee Sorvino also released a statement saying,

“Our hearts are broken, there will never be another Paul Sorvino, he was the love of my life, and one of the greatest performers to ever grace the screen and stage.” The actor is survived by his three children from his first marriage.

According to TMZ, Paul lived with severe asthma during his life. However, he was able to master different breathing techniques to manage his condition, and even wrote a best-selling book, “How to Become a Former Asthmatic,” and started the Sorvino Asthma Foundation.

Social media users are currently reacting to the unfortunate news while paying tribute to the actor online. One fan wrote,

Goodfellas, The Rocketeer, Dick Tracy, Romeo + Juliet, Nixon, Bulworth, Law & Order… so many great performances, so many great pieces of work. I had the pleasure of talking to him a number of times over the years. He’ll be greatly missed.” Another said, “Oh man. RIP. The Goodfellas cast are leaving us one by one.
“Paulie might have moved slow, but it was only because Paulie didn’t have to move for anybody.” A third said, “Third cast member of Goodfellas to pass away in the last two months (Ray Liotta and Tony Sirico). R.I.P.”

The passing of Paul Sorvino comes just two month from the death of fellow ‘Goodfellas’ Star Ray Liotta.

As we previously reported, Liotta died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting the film Dangerous Waters. Liotta leaves behind a daughter, Karsen. He was engaged to be married to Jacy Nittolo. Nothing suspicious about the death, and no foul play is suspected. Liotta was just 67 years old.
