Lawd! Paul Pierce is still looking for answers after being fired from ESPN once he posted videos of strippers and marijuana while celebrating his friend’s birthday.

In a recent interview on the “I Am Athlete” podcast, the former NBA star still had questions about how he got fired on his day off. “I got fired for what? I got fired for having some entertainment. We playing cards, it’s my boy’s birthday, its girls dancing and we blowing some trees. I mean what did I do wrong?” he said.

He then goes on to explain how the conversation went when he received a call and was told he was being let go. “It was a higher-up, it was a lady and she was like yeah so we’re doing an investigation can you tell us what happened?” the woman asked him. Pierce says he told her, “I was just hanging out playing cards. It wasn’t my house and we had some girls dancing and I was smoking some tree!”

As an ESPN analyst, Pierce appeared on a variety of shows, including “NBA Countdown,” “The Jump,” and “Get Up!” He provided analysis and commentary on games, teams, and players, and offered insights into the inner workings of the league based on his extensive experience as a player.

In April 2021, Pierce made headlines when he posted a video on social media that showed him smoking what appeared to be marijuana while playing poker with friends. The video went viral and led to criticism from some fans and media outlets, as well as his eventual departure from ESPN.

Shortly after the video was posted, ESPN announced that Pierce’s contract with the network had been terminated. While the exact reasons for his departure were not disclosed, it was widely speculated that the video played a significant role in the decision.

Despite the controversy surrounding his departure from ESPN, Pierce remains one of the most successful and respected players in NBA history. He was a 10-time All-Star, won an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008, and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.
