Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany is letting it be known that she doesn’t care what people have to say about her online.
While speaking to her fans on Instagram during a Q&A one fan asked her if it bothered her when people talk badly about her. “It used to yes. But not anymore. I could give two s—s about people’s opinion of me that don’t even know me,” she wrote alongside the peace sign. As we previously reported, folks online have Brittany a hard time after she didn’t know know what her husbands favorite cheat meal was. The two took part in GQ’s couple’s quiz, and the two seemed to be pretty in sync until Patrick asked his wife about what his favorite cheat meal was. “Fried chicken,” Brittany said confidently.
Patrick said, “No.” Brittany then guessed, “Chicken fried steak.” Again, the answer was wrong. Patrick said it was “Mexican food, especially the Tex Mex.” However, it was Brittany’s response that made social media users snatch the clip and make it go viral.
The Mahomes’ relationship was put into the spotlight in anew series on Netflix. In the first episode of the Netflix series “Quarterback,” the Kansas City Chiefs star said he and his wife Brittany met in middle school when he was in the seventh and she was in the eighth grade. Mahomes revealed how much he tried to make her his girlfriend at the time but it was hard for him to get out of the friend zone. “I was like the best friend, in the friend zone forever,” he said. “I used to walk her to class and was trying to flirt. When I was a sophomore in high school, and she was a junior, I actually got her a rose and I was kinda, like, I had a crush on her. But I was giving the rose as a joke, but kind of a quotation ‘joke.’”
Brittany said Patrick thought it was a joke, but she didn’t take it like that. “I thought it was the cutest thing in the world,” she said. “And then everyone at our lunch table started chanting, ‘Kiss him, kiss him!’ and made it really awkward ‘cause we were ‘just friends.’ That’s kind of what started it and I thought it was cute.…”
While maintaining his relationship in high school Mahomes went on to play college football at Texas Tech University before entering the NFL. He was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs as the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. In his first season as a starter in 2018, Mahomes had a breakout year, setting multiple records and earning the NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. He led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl victory in 50 years in Super Bowl LIV in 2020, where he was also named the Super Bowl MVP.
