While speaking with Willow Smith, she reveals she suffers long-term anxiety and trauma from enduring countless camera clicks by paparazzi since she was a child, growing up alongside her father, the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Although Paris and her siblings were covered in masks as a way to try and protect them from the ever-present photographers — as kids, they still had to face paparazzi and tabloids scrutinizing their every move: “I experience auditory hallucinations sometimes with camera clicks and severe paranoia and have been going to therapy for a lot of things but that included,” Jackson told Willow Smith. “I’ll hear a trash bag rustling and flinch in panic.” She adds: “I think it’s standard PTSD,” NBC News quotes.
During her sit-down, Jackson, 23, shared that one of the ways she’s found to have some sort of privacy is by having people sign non-disclosure agreements before they come into her home.
You can check out their full conversation when “Red Table Talk” when it airs this Wednesday on Facebook Watch.
