The parents of a teenage girl, who was on an American Airlines flight from Charlotte, North Carolina to Boston, Massachusetts, claim that one flight attendant put a camera in the airplane bathroom to record their daughter.
In newly released photos, social media users can see an iPhone taped to the lid of the toilet that someone attempted to hide to allegedly spy on a 14-year-old girl using the bathroom.
On Wednesday (September 13), the teen’s parents, who have asked not to be identified since their child is a minor, told Fox News Digital that their daughter is “very angry” and “shocked” that someone would want to violate her privacy on the Boston flight.

It’s reported that on September 2, the teenager and her parents were on an American Airlines flight to Boston from Charlotte when the alleged incident happened. The teen’s father said that when she got up to use the bathroom stall at the back of the plane in the coach section, a male flight attendant approached her and said, “You can use the bathroom up in first-class, it’ll be quicker.”
Being escorted by the American Airlines flight attendant, the teen walked up to the first-class bathroom. Before the teen could open the bathroom door, the male attendant reportedly stopped her and said, “Let me go in, I need to get in there and wash my hands. We’re about to collect garbage.”
The teen’s family said that she recalled the male attendant being in the bathroom stall for about a minute before he eventually came out to let her in. When he did exit, he allegedly told her the toilet seat was broken. However, the teen proceeded to enter the stall and use the restroom; but when she got up, that’s when she noticed a phone being propped up with red tape on the toilet seat lid.

Shocked, the teenager took a picture of the phone that even had its flash on. From the picture of the taped-down iPhone, the words, “seat broken,” can be seen written on the tape. The teenager claimed that when she finished using the bathroom, the male flight attendant allegedly went right back into the restroom behind her.
When the teen got back to her seat, she informed her mother of what had happened, and then saw another female passenger in first-class getting ready to enter the same restroom. The mother approached the woman and warned her, “Don’t go in there. My daughter’s just been in there, there’s a camera in there.”
However, when the mother went into the bathroom herself, the phone was gone. When the teenager’s father got involved, he approached the male flight attendant and showed him the picture of the hidden camera on the toilet seat. Apparently, his whole face “went white,” and tried to act like he had no clue what was being shown and had never seen anything like it before.

The parents then reported the issue to the other American Airlines flight attendants on board, who then relayed the information to the captain. Eventually, law enforcement officials on the ground in Boston were alerted and when the plane arrived at Boston Logan International Airport, authorities had the family escorted off the plane first to be questioned by the Massachusetts State Police and the FBI for an official report.
After the American Airlines flight attendant was escorted off the plane, investigators showed the teenager the phone in question, and she confirmed it was the same one spying on her in the bathroom. Since the alleged incident (almost two weeks ago), American Airlines has reportedly not contacted the family. However, an American Airlines rep told Fox News Digital that they are working with law enforcement on the matter.
