Panic Buttons Were Torn Out Of Reps Office Prior To Mob Infiltrating Capitol Building

An investigation is underway after it was discovered that the panic buttons had been ripped out of the congressional office of Ayanna Pressley prior to the violent Trump mob storming the Capitol.

Her chief of staff, Sarah Groh, discovered that the panic buttons installed in Pressley’s office had been removed as they attenpted to  barricade themselves in prior to the takeover.

A rep for the congresswoman spoke to the UK’s Independent and revealed that the “relevant authorities” had been notified.

“During the January 6 attack on the US Capitol, Congresswoman Pressley’s Chief of Staff realised the duress buttons installed throughout the Congresswoman’s office suite had been removed,” said Ricardo A. Sánchez. “The matter has been raised with the relevant agencies and is currently under investigation.”

What is even more concerning is that the rep revealed that the devices were perfectly intact and in use prior to the attack.

“The safety of the Congresswoman, her family and our staff remain our top priority and at the direction of the Congresswoman, the Sergeant at Arms oversaw the installation of new duress buttons throughout the office following the attack,” added Sánchez.

“Learning that those panic buttons had been removed from my office was unnerving,” Pressley said of the incident. ““I called within hours for the [House] Oversight Committee to initiate a thorough investigation to understand those individuals and agencies that might have enabled this violent attack.”
