Palace aides are asking for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to give up their royal titles after he reportedly criticized his father during a podcast interview earlier this week.

Prince Harry discussed his father Prince Charles’ behavior on Dax Shepard’s podcast and said he passed down a cycle of endless “genetic pain and suffering” along with bashing his parent skills as reported by Page Six. “It’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway. So we as parents should be doing the most we can to try and say, ‘You know what? That happened to me, I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen to you,” he said. The Duke of Sussex also noted that his upbringing and witnessing the treatment of his mother Princess Diana was another reason for stepping down from royal duties.
Senior palace aides were reportedly not pleased with the interview and said Prince Harry, along with his wife Meghan Markle, should give up their royal titles. “The Duke of Sussex has now spent a significant amount of time emphasizing that he’s no different to anyone else and attacking the institution which he says has caused him so much pain. There is a growing feeling that if you dislike the institution that much, you shouldn’t have the titles,” one of the aides said.

Others believe they should be referenced as Harry and Meghan Markle since they previously gave up their “His and Her Royal Highness” after stepping down from their royal duties.
