A Texas couple reportedly met their match after a group of package thieves smeared cow manure on their home.

The couple said they were annoyed with the thieves constantly stealing packages from their home in Austin, so, in response, they decided to set up a trap. They stuffed a box with their toddler’s used diapers and left it on the front porch for the thieves. However, the thieves returned thirty minutes later after learning about the used diapers and sprayed cow manure on the couple’s front porch, cars, and garage.

One of the homeowners, identified as Gabriella, said she filed a police report and called the cow manure revenge prank “the last straw. “That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I called police, filed a report, and now there’s a detective on the case,” she told KXAN.

Another homeowner, Britany Walker, said she handled the situation her way, resulting in the suspects laughing at her.

“I tried to pull on their emotions or something. I just ran out and said, ‘I have a baby,’ and they looked at me and just laughed. It was a really upsetting moment.”

The thefts have affected the neighborhood for weeks since the package thieves started stealing earlier this month.  Some incidents occur during the day, and most thefts are captured through doorbell cameras.

Commander Tom Sloan explained to the outlet that residents could get their packages delivered to the police department.

“It was very successful. What safer place to have your package delivered to than the police department?”

Since the holidays are coming up, package theft increases towards the end of the year and even social media users are getting of reoccurring thefts in their own neighborhoods.
