One Dead, Six Injured After Older Woman Crashes Bentley Into Miami Beach Restaurant While Trying To Parallel Park

One person was killed and six others were injured after a woman accelerated into an outdoor dining area of a Miami Beach restaurant while she was attempting to parallel park.

The Miami Beach Police Department reports that the elderly woman was trying to parallel park at 22 Washington Ave. at 6:03 p.m. when she hit several tables on the sidewalk of the eatery ‘Call me Gaby.’

“This evening at 6:03 p.m., Miami Beach Police and Fire responded to a traffic crash at 22 Washington Avenue. Preliminary information gathered indicates an elderly woman was attempting to parallel park, but accelerated onto the outdoor cafe area of the restaurant,” MPD said.

Seven people were taken to the hospital and one of them sadly passed away.

“Our entire city grieves for all the victims and their families,” Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber tweeted Friday morning.

One of the victims was a 3-year-old, who sustained bruises and minor cuts, per NBC 6 South Florida. As of now, none of the victims have been identified.
