People in the community of South Sound continue to be frustrated after surveillance video shows a vehicle smashing its way into a dispensary.

According to KIRO 7, at least five people smashed their way into the store and quickly got away with whatever they could. People in the community are frustrated because this reportedly happened just 3 weeks at “The Pot Zone” in Midland and the community moved to this new location hoping that they wouldn’t have to deal with these robberies anymore.

This time the suspects used a different car according to reports a Kia Forte is seen on the footage ramming into the front of the store to take down the door of the marijuana dispensary. “Deputies got on scene and did not see any vehicles in front of the business,” said Sgt. Darren Moss, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman. “But they did see the window was smashed in the front door.”

In the footage you can see the robbers attempting to break through the main glass where most of marijuana is kept, but couldn’t get it to break. “And they try to break it with a sign or something and couldn’t get back there,” Moss said. “So, that worked for the company.”

But even after grabbing a few things the robbers still wanted more. “And took a couple of random things,” Moss said. “And then, ultimately taking their ATM machine and putting it in the other stolen Kia that was outside.”

“Oh, that sucks,” said customer Ricky Truong. “Oh, my gosh.”

After seeing the footage Truong was asked why he thinks these robberies continue to happen and he replied, “You know, it would be nice if you could get the cops back here, start patrolling it,” Truong said. “I’ve lived here three years. I’ve seen like one cop drive up through my neighborhood in three years.”

The owner is now trying to stop these robberies from continuing to happen. A post was installed since Monday and they plan to install two more according to the owner. Sgt. Moss says there are other options as these criminals change the way they do their dirty work. He suggests installing concrete pillars to try to keep them out. All of it, he concedes, is costly to owners who are ultimately the victims.
