OMG! Sam Smith Gets Verbally Abused By New York Woman Who Calls Them A ‘Demonic Sick B******’ Following Their Controversial Grammys Performance

Everyone’s entitled to their own beliefs, but did this woman really need to hurl those nasty insults at Sam Smith? A video clip has gone viral of the singer being verbally abused by an elderly woman while walking through the streets of New York on Wednesday, and it may seemingly have had something to do with their controversial Grammys performance earlier this month.

As you’ll probably recall, Smith, who identifies as non-binary, performed their song “Unholy” with Kim Petras — but it was the costumes and overall production that left a lot of people feeling uncomfortable. Some even called it a “satanic ritual” while others branded the performance “evil” and “inappropriate” for children to watch.

Whatever the case may be, the woman in the video clearly doesn’t think highly of Smith as she began her tirade by telling them they belong in hell. “You demonic, twisted, sick b******,” she yells at Smith as they try to mind their business by staring at their phone, seemingly trying to avoid any sort of confrontation with the woman. “Leave the kids alone, you sick f*****,” she proceeded to say as Smith — clearly bothered at this point — begins to walk away.

The viral clip on Twitter comes just days after Smith appeared on the British television show, “The One Show,” where they had to correct one of the hosts for referring to them as a “fisherman” after opening up about their love for fishing.

“I’d love to be a fisher-them,” the ‘Stay With Me’ singer said, prompting host Alex Jones to ask them, “What, like a fly fisherman?”

Smith interjected by correcting her, saying, “I’d be any type of fisher-them. I think I would like to, one day, I’d just like to end my days fishing.”

“Like sitting on a bank. I do it on the sea and I do it on lakes. I’ve never done it alone, someone’s almost taught me.”

Smith has received a ton of backlash in recent weeks — mostly because a lot of people say they don’t recognize the singer from the artist he was when they first landed their breakthrough back in 2014 with the debut album, “In The Lonely Hour.”

The record earned them Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys the following year and propelled them to become one of the biggest artists in music. But it’s no secret that their image and sound have changed over the years, and not everyone seems to be pleased about it.
