Here’s some sweet news to kick off your weekend: Professional basketball player LiAngelo Ball and Miss Nikki Baby are expecting their first child together!
The athlete, 24, and Love & Hip-Hip star, 32, made the big announcement through an exclusive with PEOPLE.
“We’re both so excited about becoming parents, we spoke about having a life and kids when we first met, our goals, dreams, life we wanted & then it really happened,” the couple told the outlet. They continued, “We can’t wait to meet our baby and begin this new chapter together,” they add. “It’s super exciting for us both being first-time parents and getting to experience everything together.”

The two have always kept a relatively low profile which is why this may come as shock to some social media users.
Last year back in September, the two confirmed that they were an item after Miss Nikki, real name, Nikki Mudarris, posted kissing snaps to her Instagram Story. “I love you with my whole heart,” her first IG story slide read at the time. Of course, it led to some backlash online as many people pointed out the age difference. However, Mudarris made it clear why she chose to keep her relationship private while also sending out a message to other female who keep throwing themselves at him.
“Let’s be clear, I’m very private with my love life, but I’m open with my relationship cus my man don’t want y’all so girls please do not even try and embarrass yourself. It ain’t gonna happen. That’s me.”
Clearly, she meant every word because the two are going stronger than ever. While speaking with PEOPLE about their pregnancy, Nikki shared how thrilled she was to share the news with their family and friends:
“When I told my mom and pops they were shocked a little bit but I think more so excited than anything,” he says. “My mom was yelling and cheering in excitement. When I told my brothers [NBA stars LaMelo and Lonzo Ball] they were happy for me and also excited to become new uncles to my seed.”
Speaking about her pregnancy journey, Nikki revealed that it’s been going pretty smoothly so far. “The baby has been super good to me, I haven’t had one ounce of morning sickness,” she shares. “I just feel more tired overall than anything. As far as my cravings, the baby craves everything his dad loves — Popeyes, Oreos, Wingstop, pizza, pasta — all the bad things I never used to eat because I was always watching my weight and now I can’t stop eating!” she says. “I’m enjoying my pregnancy because I can actually enjoy indulging for once and not feel too bad!” she said to PEOPLE.
The private couple went on to tell the outlet that they already know the sex of the baby and have already picked names. However, they’re keeping it under wraps and will share it when the time is right.
“Ironically we picked our kid(s) names three months before I got pregnant so when we found out it was pretty easy what we were gonna name the baby.”
