Ohio State Trooper Saves Choking Suspect Who Swallowed His Weed

A driver in Ohio got pulled over and attempted to dispose of his weed by swallowing it. The state trooper noticed something was wrong with the driver and pulled him out the car to perform the Heimlich maneuver.

According to TMZ the traffic stop was located in Portage County, the Trooper Charles Hoskin Pulled over Stephan R. Elash for speeding. Hoskin states the driver also wasn’t wearing a seat belt but little did he know the situation was deeper than expected.

Dash cam footage shows the Trooper performing a Heimlich thrusts and the driver attempts to throw up, but that would not work. Hoskin applies more pressure which ends up saving Elash’s life.

You can see the driver admit he swallowed a gram of weed, and apologize to the officer. EMS checked him out and he was okay, medically.

In the footage you can see the driver admits to swallowing a gram of weed. Paramedics came and checked on him and he was okay, medically but as far as legally-despite getting his life saved he still received a few charges. Failure to drive without a seat belt, speeding, and possession of marijuana were his charges. Marijuana is still illegal in the state of Ohio.

After the incident highway patrols release an important warning for residents “Don’t try to swallow a bag of drugs prior to getting pulled over in an attempt to keep a trooper from finding them.”
