Wow! Ohio State Senator George Lang is regretful after telling a crowd at a rally for Donald Trump and VP Pick J.D. Vance that it might take a “civil war to save the country” if the GOP loses in the 2024 presidential race.
While speaking at a rally in Middletown, Ohio for Republican nominee Donald Trump and his recently selected VP pick J.D. Vance, Ohio Senator George Lang tried his best to get Americans to vote Republican in November — but went a little too far in fetching those votes.
After being introduced to the stage, Senator George Lang began by encouraging the crowd to yell out a chant, “Fight, fight, fight!” As the crowd settles, Lang tries to get everyone riled up again and says, “We’ve got time! Come on! Hey, we are in the fight for the soul of the nation. We are in a fight for our kids and our grandkids — a fight that we could never imagine.”

Senator George Lang continued, “I believe, wholeheartedly, that Donald Trump and Butler County’s J.D. Vance are the last chance to save our country, politically. I’m afraid if we lose this one, it’s going to take a civil war to save the country — and it will be saved! It’s the greatest experiment in the history of mankind. And [it] comes down to a civil war, I’m glad we’ve got people like Schmitty and the Bikers for Trump on our side.”
Immediately following his comments, Ohio Senator George Lang was criticized for claiming “it’s going to take a civil war to save the country,” especially knowing what just happened in Butler, Pennsylvania with Donald Trump and his assassination attempt. After being dragged online, Lang ended up speaking out to address his comments and reveal how “regretful” he is.
Taking to his social media pages, the Senator shared “a statement on comments made earlier today.” Senator George Lang posted a photo of his official statement about the “civil war” comments which read, “Remarks I made earlier today at a rally in Middletown do not accurately reflect my views. I regret the divisive remarks I made in the excitement of the moment on stage. Especially in light of the assassination attempt on President Trump last week. We should all be mindful of what is said at political events, myself included.”
