The FBI has arrested Scott Michael Hanna, a 30-year-old Ohio man, after he allegedly posted disturbing threats on social media about organizing a mob to kill Black people in Cincinnati.
According to WLWT, Hanna used X (formerly Twitter) to declare his violent intentions, stating he planned to “cleanse the city of Blacks” by Sunday and organize others to help carry it out.
“The FBI aggressively investigates those who threaten our communities with violence,” said FBI Cincinnati Special Agent in Charge Elena Iatarola. “Threats like this impact the entire community and have serious consequences.”
Hanna was arrested Friday and charged with making an interstate communication with a threat to injure, a federal offense that could result in up to five years in prison.

History of Violence: Sword Attack and Racial Slurs Add to Troubling Pattern
This isn’t the first time Hanna has been in trouble with the law — and his history paints a disturbing picture.
Back in September, Hanna reportedly swung a full-sized sword at someone’s neck, nearly decapitating the victim. Officials say the violent act caused serious injury, and when police arrived, Hanna shouted racial slurs and screamed incoherently. “He had swung a full-sized sword at a victim’s neck, resulting in serious injury and what appeared to be a partial decapitation,” officials confirmed.
Despite that earlier encounter, he remained free until his latest posts promoting racially motivated mass violence triggered a full federal investigation.
Court documents revealed that Hanna made repeated threats online and expressed a desire to “kill thousands” as part of a racially motivated hate campaign.
