Ohio Lawmaker Nino Vitale Tells Residents To Stop Getting Tested For COVID-19 As Cases Rise
Ohio lawmaker Nino Vitale, who’s been downplaying the severity of the coronavirus, is catching major heat after telling residents to stop getting tested for COVID-19, despite a rising number of cases across the state.
Vitale, a Republican state representative, notably stands against Gov. Mike DeWine and his coronavirus responses; which most recently included a mandate for all residents in seven Ohio counties to wear faces masks in public.

Responding to the announcement, Vitale took to Facebook to share a screenshot of DeWine’s mandate, and captioned it “!! NEVER GET TESTED !! Are you tired of living in a dictatorship yet? This is what happens when people go crazy and get tested. STOP GETTING TESTED! It is giving the government an excuse to claim something is happening that is not happening at the magnitude they say it is happening. Have you noticed they never talk about deaths anymore, just cases? And they never talk about recoveries. They just keep adding to numbers they have been feeding us from over 3 months ago!”
Meanwhile, DeWine’s press secretary Dan Tierney responded, “Testing is an important tool in the fight against the Coronavirus. For Ohioans who want to get a test, there are many testing locations on the website at www.coronavirus.ohio.gov.”
