Losing a loved one is undeniably one of the most challenging experiences anyone can face. The emotional toll it takes on individuals is immeasurable and often leaves a lasting impact on their lives. Rapper Offset is still dealing with heartbreak and pain from Takeoff’s tragic death, but he’s finding the strength to open up about it even more.
While appearing on Angela Yee’s show, @wayupwithyee, Offset explains how much he still struggles with coming to terms that Takeoff is no longer here. He says,
“I’m unhealed… I’m being honest,” Offset tells Yee. “I lost my brother I’m not healed. I am not good.” Offset went on to remind listeners that he’s a real human being with feelings… although everyone sees him as just a star. “I cry every day about this sh*t.”

More On What Happened To Takeoff
As we previously reported, the Migos rapper was tragically killed on Nov. 1, 2022, during a dispute outside of a private party. He was found dead when officers arrived at 810 Billiards and Bowling downtown, according to police. He was one of three people police said were shot outside the downtown bowling alley after a dispute erupted as about 40 people were leaving a private party at the alley. Another man and a woman suffered non-life-threatening gunshot injuries during the shooting, in which at least two people opened fire.
A man named Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was eventually arrested and charged with murder. Another man, Cameron Joshua, 22, was charged with the unlawful carrying of a weapon. Takeoff was just 28 years old.
Group mate Quavo also recently spoke out in an interview for the first time to talk about the death of his nephew. In an 18-minute interview titled “A Conversation For The Fans” posted on his YouTube channel, Quavo says,
“I miss him a lot, and I love him,” said Quavo. “He knows I love him. That’s what we always know. So when you see me, and you see me smiling or something like that, you don’t gotta never think I forgot about him, or I’ll forget about him. I think about him all the time.”
He added, “Sometimes I cry myself to sleep,” he continued. “And that’s it. I just know he’s here. If I can’t feel him, I just know he’s around. He just do all type of crazy things. I don’t even like calling it crazy no more … I don’t say stuff like that no more cause it’s dead serious. It’s real.”
Quavo and Offset had a fallen out even before Takeoff’s death. Although it was still hard for them to make up even after his passing, the two eventually peaced it up and delivered a touching tribute to their good friend at the 2023 BET Awards.
