Officer Fired After Calling For ‘Hanging’ Of Black Men Convicted Of Murder

A Georgia cop has been fired for making an  “inappropriate” Facebook post where he said that five black men convicted for a murder in 2016 should be hanged.

Rossville Police Department released a statement for Officer Robert “Skipper” Dunn’s firing,

“We wanted to take a moment to thank all of the people who expressed concern and provided information regarding one of our part-time officers posting what many viewed as inappropriate messages on FaceBook. After a detailed internal review of the issue, the Police Department has decided that Officer Robert “Skipper” Dunn will no longer be performing duties with the Rossville Police Department. It is important that everyone understand Officer Dunn certainly enjoys the First Amendment Right to post his opinions. However, when those posts or opinions detract from his ability to effectively serve the community it is in the best interest of the community that he no longer be assigned those duties.”

Per  WTVC, on June 15th,  Dunn shared a post showing the mugshots of five black men involved in a Georgia home invasion with the comment, “I think a hanging is in order.”The post has been deleted.

Four of the men in the post were given life sentences for the murder of Dorothy Dow, 83. Dow was discovered burned to death inside her home.

Dunn insisted that he was not racist and jus believed in capital punishment.
