NYPD Sergeant Fatally Shoots Man In The Bronx

A man was shot and killed by an NYPD sergeant during a Bronx traffic stop on Thursday.

According to Pix 11, three cops spotted a man driving without his seatbelt and pulled him over. When they ran his name, they realized that he had multiple open warrants.

They notified the drive that he would have to take to the station, but a struggle ensued.

“The police were screaming to the driver to get out of the car,” said a witness.

The sergeant tried to tase the man, but it missed. Witnesses report that the suspect was shifting his SUV into drive and then into reverse trying to escape when a shot fired from the sergeant’s gun and hit him in the chest.

“It looked like he was trying to escape with his car and was driving it back and forth, trying to get away,” added the witness.

Officers attempted to give aid at the scene, but, the man was pronounced dead once he got to the hospital.
