NYPD Detective Dies From Coronavirus
A veteran NYPD detective has become the first officer to die from the deadly coronavirus.
48-year-old Cedric Dixon, from the 32nd Precinct in Harlem, is a 23-year veteran who passed away early Saturday morning at North Central Bronx Hospital from complication caused by COVID-19.
“I can tell you that I’ve spoken to many of his friends and coworkers since this morning, and he was known as the person that would do anything to help you,” said NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea. “If you had something broken, he was particularly fond of fixing technology and electronics.”
