NY Assembly GOP Look To Impeach Cuomo Over COVID-19 Nursing Home Scandal
Although Gov. Andrew Cuomo and former POTUS Donald Trump haven’t gotten along, one thing they’ve got in common is the word “impeach.” On Thursday (Feb. 18), the NY State Assembly GOP announced their push to form an impeachment commission “to gather facts and evidence” surrounding Cuomo’s COVID-19 nursing home scandal.
Assembly Republicans argues that Cuomo mishandled the coronavirus crisis and underreported nursing home deaths across the state. Subsequently, the group is looking to form this commission to further “examine the state’s method of administration and conduct in all matters relating to nursing homes and long-term care facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The assembly is setting a 60-day deadline for the committee to conduct its work and reveal its findings and recommendations to the legislature, so they can decide whether Cuomo should be impeached. Moreover, the resolution to form this committee still needs to be passed by both houses of the Democrat-controlled legislature. #Socialites, thoughts?
