What was supposed to be a smooth ride for flyers traveling from Atlanta to Barcelona last week turned out to be a pretty sh***y experience.
Earlier this month, Delta 194 was 2 hours into its journey from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 8:29 p.m. to Barcelona when something shocking l happened: a passenger had a severe case of diarrhea and leaked down the aisle of the aircraft.
Audio posted on LiveATC.net and shared by Twitter user, captured an exchange between a pilot and air traffic control personnel. “This is a biohazard issue,” a voice says on the recording. “We’ve had a passenger who had diarrhea all the way through the airplane, so they want us to come back to Atlanta.” Delta Airlines also released a statement at the time and said an l an “onboard medical issue” was to blame for the U-turn/delay. “Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to get our customers to their final destination. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans,” it said.
The video even shows the flight crew trying their best to clean up the spill. But nothing could stop the smell.

So what happened to passengers once they arrived back in Atlanta? Well, they were allowed to re-board after an eight-hour delay, making it to Barcelona on Saturday afternoon with no further incident.
