NPR Station Refuses To Air Donald Trump Coronavirus Briefings Due To Lies

Seattle NPR station, KUOW, announces that they are no longer airing coronavirus briefings given by Donald Trump and the White House due to lies and misinformation.

The station stated, “KUOW is monitoring White House briefings for the latest news on the coronavirus — and we will continue to share all news relevant to Washington State with our listeners. However, we will not be airing the briefings live due to a pattern of false or misleading information provided that cannot be fact checked in real time.”

Additionally, the news follows Trump’s recent false claims about the availability of tests; the timeline for finding a vaccine; and the potential benefits of a treatment that includes the ingredient chloroquine.

In addition, Trump recently called for the ending of recent local government-mandated shelter-in-place and safer-at-home orders, put in place to halt the spread of the virus across the nation. He is wanting the quarantine to end by April 12.
