Not Giving Up! Just Taking A Break: Kim Kardashian Reportedly Pauses Law Journey After Multiple Failed Bar Exam Attempts

Listen, one thing about Kim Kardashian, she’s not built to quit. And that’s exactly why folks are still rocking with her. This latest move? It’s not her throwing in the towel, it’s her knowing when to pause, reset, and come back stronger.

After years of hitting the books and chasing that law degree dream, Kim is reportedly pressing pause on her journey, for now. As many are aware, the SKIMS founder has been grinding, trying to conquer California’s notoriously tough bar exam, but instead of running herself into the ground, she’s choosing rest over rush.

According to reports from TMZ, Kim skipped the February bar exam and already decided she won’t be sitting for the July one either. Since California only offers the test twice a year, that means 2026 is officially off the table. Sources tell the outlet that she’s opting to wait it out, with her next possible shot landing in 2027. Now, Kim herself hasn’t come out to confirm all that just yet, but the message is still loud and clear: she’s pacing herself.

This update hits less than a year after she kept it real with fans about not passing the exam. She got the news back in November after taking the test in July 2025. Still, if you know Kim, you know she didn’t let that shake her. She showed love to her supporters and brushed off the noise:

“Well…I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up – just more studying and even more determination.”

And let’s not forget, this isn’t her first time pushing through. Back in 2021, Kim celebrated a huge win when she passed California’s “baby bar” after multiple tries. She was hype, and rightfully so.

“OMFGGGG I PASSED THE BABY BAR EXAM!!!!” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Looking in the mirror, I am really proud of the woman looking back today in the reflection.” After going for the big gun, she wasn’t as successful.

Now, she did keep it honest in a more recent episode of The Kardashians while studying, admitting that failure might make her step away for a while.

“I really want it, and if I don’t pass, I don’t think I would take it again. I wouldn’t have the time for a few years, and then I’m older, and then my brain capacity is different,” she said.

Fast forward to now, and it looks like she’s doing exactly what she said, taking that time. Not quitting, just recalibrating.

Kim is clearly serious about this law path for years. Between advocating for criminal justice reform and putting in real study hours, she’s shown this isn’t just for show. Still, even while she’s on pause, she’s keeping a foot in the legal world, playing divorce attorney Allura Grant on All’s Fair.

This ain’t the end of Kim K’s law story. It’s just a little intermission.
