Normani found herself in a lot of unwanted attention on Twitter on Tuesday following Chloe’s announcement that her debut album, “In Pieces,” is dropping in March. While Normani clearly has nothing to do with the album by any means, fans have since taken it upon themselves to draw comparisons between the two, with many questioning how the “Do It” singer has managed to put together a full body of work before Normani.

“chloe releasing her solo debut album before my other fav is not something i thought i’d see happen… normani’s label will not see heaven,” one person wrote on Twitter, clearly frustrated by the anticipated release of a Normani solo project. “Chloe releasing a debut album before Normani is CRAZY to me,” another person tweeted.

Back in October, Chloe hit back at those who have persistently compared her and Normani on social media, telling critics to “kiss our black a**es, from what I’ve seen she works very hard.” She continued, “That’s why I sympathize so much because I feel like sometimes we go through the same thing. But nobody knows that.”

During her Twitter Live, Chloe made it no secret that she’s aware of the comparisons that are made about her and Normani, and she’s not exactly thrilled about it.

“Let me tell you something, I love Normani. She is a bad b*tch. Her body is out of this world. I wish I had her t*tties, and she’s a great dancer and performer. You guys don’t know half the sh*t that us as Black women in the music industry go through and from what I’ve seen she works very hard.”

After six years together, Fifth Harmony – the group which propelled Normani to stardom following their stint on FOX’s ‘The X Factor’ – called it quits in 2018. Many of its band members would go on to pursue solo careers, including the Atlanta native, who went on to release “Love Lies” featuring Khalid, peaking at No. 9 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

The following year, Normani was featured on Sam Smith’s “Dancing With A Stranger,” which performed even better, selling 7 million copies worldwide and becoming her biggest hit to date. While she would release a series of singles after that, fans have patiently waited for an actual full album to come to fruition, but given that it’s been five years now, it seems a lot of people are starting to get impatient.
