Rick Ross is not letting up! The rapper is making it clear that his car show will go on even despite being denied a permit.
According to XXL, the Fayette County Planning and Zoning Commission reportedly denied his attempt to obtain a permit for the show, saying that it was “not in compliance with Fayette County Zoning Ordinance.” The event went down last year without a hitch and it was even allowed to take place. However, the show that is scheduled to happen on Ross’ estate – which is known as the Promise Land – on June 3, was rejected this year along with the rapper’s move to categorize the show as a “horse show/rodeo/carnival and/or community fair.” “Any decision to allow the 2022 event to move forward as a conditional use in the A-R Zoning District was made outside of the scope of authority of the then acting Director of Planning & Zoning/ Zoning Administrator,” the document provided to XXL read.
The letter also cites the “sheer number of individuals expected” to show up for the big event which will result in such traffic and noise that isn’t “consistent with the purpose of a residential zoning district.” In addition to that, are also safety concerns, as the magnitude of the event will be “overwhelming to public safety personnel and County infrastructure currently allocated” to the area. Now despite that, Rick Ross is not paying the county any mind. On Instagram, “The Boss” artist responded to the denial by saying things will go on as planned. “It can’t be stopped for nothing,” he said while showing off a pink Cadillac. “See y’all there.” Ross added that he’d like to run for mayor of Fayetteville next year “because I love Fayetteville so much.” While speaking more about his upcoming event with TMZ, Ross explained how he plans to get around around in the city.
“Car show it’s going down June 3rd. It’s being done. It’s a private event on private property which can’t be stopped. Last year I had a good time and it worked out with zero violence, no problems.” He went on to say, “This year I really went above and beyond for my community and it’s really going to be a great event.”
He continued, “The city should pay me for this. The city is getting a lot for this.” Ross pointed out that the amount of people coming in just for the show are buying Airbnbs and eating at restaurants in the city which is actually benefiting Atlanta… so he doesn’t understand why his show is an issue at all.
Speaking more on his plans to run for office, Ross said, “Somebody in this office needs to see this vision. The people that’s in the office now have no connection to the community. They’re totally lost and there needs to be some changes made.”
