NJ Federal Judge, Assigned To Epstein Deutsche Bank Case, Breaks Silence After Son Is Killed & Husband Shot

After her son was brutally killed and husband shot, NJ federal judge Esther Salas, who was assigned to the Jeffrey Epstein and Deutsche Bank case prior, is breaking her silence and calling for better protections for federal officials.

For the first time since her 20-year-old son Daniel’s death and attorney husband Mark Anderl’s shooting, which left him critically injured, US District Judge Salas, New Jersey’s first Hispanic federal judge, releases an emotional statement regarding the July 19 attack at her New Brunswick home. She recalls, after cleaning up from celebrating Daniel’s birthday, a gunman, posing as a FedEx driver rang her doorbell, and fatally shot her son in the chest after he jumped in front of his father. The gunman has since, reportedly, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

She says, “Two weeks ago, my life as I knew it changed in an instant, and my family will never be the same. My family has experienced a pain that no one should ever have to endure.” While begging for justice and for better protections for federal judges, she explains, “Currently, federal judges’ addresses and other information is readily available on the internet. This monster knew where I lived and what church we attended and had a complete dossier on me and my family.”

Concluding, she calls for “national dialogue” to prevent her son from “dying in vain,” adding, “I know this is a complicated issue, and I don’t pretend to know or have all answers, but together we can find a way.”
