Not so good news for Nicki Minaj fans who were expecting to see the star perform in Amsterdam again. This Friday it was announced that her second tour date in the city has been canceled. The cancellation comes after the rapper’s arrest for alleged drug possession.

Dutch promoter Mojo shared the update of the cancellation on their website, citing the events of last week as the reason for the cancellation. “Due to the events of last week, the Nicki Minaj show on Sunday, 2nd June at Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam will no longer be taking place. Tickets will be refunded at the point of sale.”

As previously reported, Minaj who is currently on a world tour was detained by Dutch authorities on May 25, while leaving Amsterdam. The authorities claimed to have found marijuana in her luggage. However, the New York rapper took to social media to deny the allegations while sharing real-time updates with her fans. Despite her denial, she was still placed in a police vehicle holding cell and ultimately had to postpone her show in Manchester, England.

During the incident, Minaj documented her interaction with the police on Instagram Live. She insisted that she was not carrying drugs and requested a lawyer. The police informed her that she had to go to the police station but assured her that they would work with her to ensure she could make it to her next show in Manchester.

Although Minaj saw it as a clear act of racism, a spokesman for the border police said they will always act if crimes come to light “whatever your background, no matter who you are, where you are from or where you are going,” Dutch News quotes.

Now, despite that scary incident, Minaj has continued her tour, performing in rescheduled shows in Manchester, Birmingham, London, and Glasgow. She is set to perform in Paris, France this weekend before heading to Germany and Poland.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj has also announced that she is extending her record-breaking Pink Friday 2 World Tour with a second North American leg. That is expected to kick off in September.
