Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Reportedly ‘Too Sick’ To Undergo Mediation With Sexual Assault Accuser Jennifer Hough

As we’ve previously reported, Hough sued the couple back in 2021, claiming that they relentlessly harassed her after coming forward with her story of sexual assault. Prior to Minaj marrying Petty in 2019, Hough accused him of rape in the 1990s.

Back in 1995, to be exact, Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape and would go on to serve more than four years in prison.

In her 2021 suit, Hough accused Minaj and Petty of trying to intimidate, harass and threaten her in exchange of her recanting her initial rape claims.

Hough eventually dropped her claims against the “Super Bass” rapper earlier this year, but her claims against Petty still remain.

Also in 2021, Petty had pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender. In response, a judge sentenced him to one year of home confinement, plus three years of probation.

Since the judge’s decision, Petty has tried to pursue legal action over his sex offender status by going against the State of New York and the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.

Now as of March 2023, it is being reported by AllHipHop that Minaj and Petty’s attorney, Steven D. Isser, has sent back-to-back requests for continuation of a mandated mediation involving Petty and Hough.

The publication claims it has obtained documents explaining that a court had ordered all parties to a mediation on March 6; however, Petty fell ill and was “too sick” to show.

So, the mediation was rescheduled for March 9, but was canceled as well. Attorney Isser then sent a letter to Judge James R. Cho, requesting for a third new date on March 24.

It in part, reportedly, read, “We respectfully request that the Court extend the mediation deadline to March 24, 2023, which will hopefully be sufficient time for Mr. Petty to recover and then for parties and the Mediator to schedule a mutually available date for the mediation. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
