Nicki Minaj, a Trinidad and Tobago native, is trolling all of the deportation petitions as she finalizes her US citizenship paperwork after getting President Donald Trump‘s Gold Card “free of charge.”
As we previously shared in late December, a viral petition to “Deport Nicki Minaj to Trinidad” gained momentum days after the “Super Bass” rapper spoke with Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk at TPUSA’s AmericaFest (AmFest) event in Phoenix, Arizona.
As of today (Wednesday, January 28), the petition, initially created on July 9, 2025, has 94,438 verified signatures. Following the AmFest event, another petition to “Deport Nicki Minaj Back to Trinidad” was launched and went viral. The second petition, created on December 27, 2025, has 68,601 verified signatures as of January 28.
Notably, in October 2019, Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, talked about him “getting her citizenship and green card” after tying the knot. In September 2024, Minaj again mentioned she’s “not a citizen of America.” She said she was born in Trinidad and Tobago and lived in the United States for many years. She even wondered why she hasn’t received an “honorary citizenship” despite paying millions in taxes.
Nicki Minaj Receives Donald Trump’s ‘Gold Card’ And Pathway To US Citizenship Amid Deportation Petitions
Before Nicki Minaj’s interview with Erika Kirk in December, she began praising Donald Trump in November, even making an appearance at a United Nations event. Now, on January 28, reports surfaced of her pledging thousands behind his Trump Accounts initiative, which seeks to give eligible American children tax-advantaged investments accounts “courtesy of President Trump.”
Reportedly, Minaj pledged between $150,000 to $300,000 to help fund accounts for her fans. Following the announcement, Minaj appeared at Trump’s summit for the initiative. After the event, Minaj then revealed that she received a Trump Gold Card.
Back in February 2025, President Trump teased his $5 million “Gold Card” that he said would offer a path to citizenship for wealthy foreigners. By April 2025, he debuted the card and said, “It’s like a ‘Green Card,’ but better.”
Hours after Minaj’s initial Trump Gold Card announcement, she trolled viral deportation petitions and told X:
“Residency? Residency? The cope is coping. Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President. Thanks to the petition. I wouldn’t have done it without you. Oh CitizenNiKA, you are thee moment. Gold Trump card free of charge.”
