Recently Nicki Minaj received backlash after a snippet of her upcoming song, “Yikes” came out with the rapper saying, “All you b*tches Rosa Parks, uh oh, get your ass up.” Many were outraged as the lyrics dropped a day before what would have been Parks 107th birthday, and saw it as disrespectful period.

Initial reports said that Nicki did not mean to drop the snippet that day and it was a coincidence, however, the rapper is now voicing her side of the story and point blank says that she doesn’t care about the backlash.

Nicki posted a headline on her IG story that read “Nicki Minaj Allegedly Says Rosa Parks Lyric Was ‘Bad Timing;’ Not Mean To Offend Or Disrespect Parks”  accompanied by her caption which said, “Never said this. Had no clue anyone was mad. Don’t care. #Yikes.”

According to TMZ, those close to Rosa say that if she were alive, she would be very hurt.

William McCauley, who is Parks’ nephew, tole TMZ that “It was both heart breaking and disrespectful that Nicki Minaj would have a lyric in a song that can be used negatively when mentioning someone who provided her the freedoms that she has today.”
