Broadway star Nick Codero is finally awake after being under a medically induced coma for weeks.
PEOPLE report his wife Amanda Kloots confirmed the news earlier today on her Instagram Stories. She stated Codero woke up after being in a medically induced coma for about a month at an intensive care unit. The video shows Kloots telling their son Elvis Eduardo “Nick, Dada, is awake! Yay! Dada is awake!” and said Nick is weak but he is following commands.

“It’s just that Nick is so weak right now that even opening his eyes and closing his eyes takes all his energy. Dada did it! But he is following commands which means his mental status is coming back this is a long road, a very long road. We are on our way to #coderocky,”

Kloots called her husband “a superhero” and says he’s looking better each day.
“But he is a true superhero. I mean, we have just come such a far, far away. He’s in there and everything is looking good. It’s like you don’t want to get yourself too excited because it’s been such a road. But that’s why I say it’s a very long road still. We are still in a very long road, but we are the beginnings of recovery. We are the beginnings of him waking up and the beginning of him following even more commands and being able to do more things.”
