Nick Cannon’s Talk Show Debut Postponed Amid Anti-Semitism Controversy

Amid his anti-Semitism controversy, Nick Cannon‘s daytime talk show, due for debut this fall, is now being postponed. Co-producers for Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury announced on Friday that Cannon’s debut will now be pushed back from its original September 2020 premiere to fall 2021.

The production company updated, “After conversations with Nick, we do believe that his public comments don’t reflect his true feelings and his apology is heartfelt and sincere. We want to continue the healing process as he meets with leaders of the Jewish community and engages in a dialogue with our distribution partners to hear their views. We are standing by Nick in our hope that by fall 2021 he will be able to use his extraordinary talent and platform to entertain, enlighten and unite his audience on the ‘Nick Cannon’ talk show.”

As referenced above, the move follows Cannon’s apology for anti-Semitic comments made on his podcast, which spawned backlash including his termination at ViacomCBS. Most recently, Cannon took to social media after the black community “turned on [him]” for apologizing. In his posts, he eerily geotagged Heaven, and ended with “Y’all can have this planet. I’m out!”
