NFL Blasted For Having ‘Fake’ Interest In Colin Kaepernick After Deaths Of George Floyd & Breonna Taylor
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and various teams are being blasted for having “fake” interest in Colin Kaepernick, particularly following the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.
Despite Goodell apologizing profusely and claiming he and the league “should’ve have listened to Kaepernick earlier,” a source tells ‘Pro Football Talk‘ host Mike Florio that the NFL’s interest was all a performance, and expressed out of guilt. Florio says, “Per a source with knowledge of the situation, there was some ‘fake’ interest expressed immediately after [George] Floyd’s death, seemingly out of guilt. There has been zero interest expressed as to Kaepernick ‘in months.'”

Previously, the NFL media reported multiple teams were in touch with Kapernick’s “friends and associates,” and that teams would move forward when they “get to the point where they’re confident enough that they think they can work out a contract.” However, Florio’s source says none of this has occurred, nor was ever planned to happen. Subsequently, the 2016-ousted quarterback looks to remain on the sidelines again for this upcoming football season.
