A former New York weatherman for Spectrum News NY1 has revealed on Instagram that he’s been fired from his job after his boss got hold of his nude photos. Erick Adame made the revelation on his Instagram on Monday, admitting that the snaps were taken on an adult webcam site and distributed to not just his employer but also several family members of his, which has prompted him to take legal action.
“Despite being a public figure and being on television in the biggest market in the country in front of millions of people five days a week for more than a decade and a half, I secretly appeared on an adult webcam website,” Adame told his followers in a statement. While he believed he would be able to keep his personal activities private, his boss ended up finding out after being sent a string of nude photos of the company’s weatherman, resulting in his contract being terminated.

Adame has requested a court to force the adult entertainment site to reveal the identity of the person who secretly took screenshots of him without his consent since users are not revealed by their full name on the platform. Once he does obtain the records, Adame makes it clear that he will be suing that individual for the stress they have caused him, which has already seen him lose his job. Further in his statement, he apologized to his family and friends “for any embarrassment or humiliation I have caused you.”
“I had the job of my dreams and I lost it due to my own lapse in judgment,” he continued. Interestingly enough, Adame says he plans on getting professional help which will help him make better decisions that don’t affect the people he cares about the most. He hopes to move on from the controversy that has affected his career and personal life, but adds that despite how things have played out, he’s sincerely apologetic for his actions and how they may have affected others, including his former boss.

“I acted out my compulsive behaviors, while at home, by performing on camera for other men,” he continued before stressing that he was never paid to make the raunchy videos, ruling out the idea that he was engaging in escort-like activities.
Needless to say, Adame has certainly learned his lesson in this case and hopes that the situation won’t put off future employers from hiring him and give him another chance. “I will be an exemplary employee and the most informed and enthusiastic meteorologist you have ever seen,” he added.
