New York To Temporarily Bury Coronavirus Bodies In Parks

New York City is so overwhelmed with it’s morgues and hospitals, that it will begin to bury those who died from from the Coronavirus in local parks as a temporary solution.

Councilman Mark Levine shared the grim news on Monday,

“Soon we’ll start ‘temporary interment’,” Levine wrote on Twitter. “This likely will be done by using a NYC park for burials (yes you read that right). Trenches will be dug for 10 caskets in a line.”

“It will be done in a dignified, orderly–and temporary–manner. But it will be tough for NYers to take. The goal is to avoid scenes like those in Italy, where the military was forced to collect bodies from churches and even off the streets.”

Mayor Bill De Blasio also spoke on the matter,

“We may well be dealing with temporary burials, so we can deal with each family later. I’m not going into details,” de Blasio added. “I don’t think it’s a great thing to be talking about.”

U.S. medical experts have estimated that the death toll from the coronavirus pandemic could reach 240,000 all over the country.
