NY Mets star Yoenis Cespedes has his team and loved ones concerned after reportedly going missing in Atlanta. According to TMZ, he did not show up to the ballpark for Sunday’s game and hasn’t communicated with his team.

The Mets are playing the Braves in Atlanta today and despite Cespedes being in attendance for Saturday’s game, he did not return Sunday.

The Mets released a statement following his no-show,

“As of game time, Yoenis Céspedes has not reported to the ballpark today. He did not reach out to management with any explanation for his absence. Our attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful.”

Initially, it was believed that he was taking a routine off-day as Cespedes is coming back from heel and ankle injuries, and taking two years off, however, he never mentioned anything about it. Officials say that they don’t have any evidence to suggest that his safety is at risk.
