A New Orlean-based rapper was arrested for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend in Atlanta, Georgia. Family and friends said he tormented them on social media days after the shooting while on the run from police.

DeKalb County police officers arrested Justin Rene Lewis, aka Mad Muzik Cali, on Thursday for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, Raesha Heard. On October 11, Heard was taking groceries from her car and walking in her parents’ driveway when Lewis reportedly opened fire and shot her multiple times. Relatives said her eight-year-old son witnessed the shooting, as reported by Fox 5 Atlanta.
Her relatives were also in the home when the the shooting took place, and Lewis fled the scene shortly after. Hours after the mother’s death, Lewis posted multiple Instagram stories while on the run, and hundreds of comments flooded his posts about committing the crime and posting without remorse.

The tragic shooting of Heard has devestated her friends and family. Her best friends told the outlet described Heard as “the life of the party”: “Her smile. She was the life of the party. Always so sweet.”
“Words can’t explain how bad it hurts.”
Investigators also said they were very cooperative with police and didn’t disclose any further information about the suspect or his arrest. However, Instagram users also said he was allegedly involved in the murder of a previous girlfriend in 2017.
Before the shooting, Lewis went viral on social media for randomly approaching other rappers and started uploading music on his SoundCloud account.
