As we exclusively shared back on August 9, Blueface was sentenced to 4 years in prison for probation violation. The rapper had been in the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles since January for probation violation. During his hearing in August, the rapper was sentenced to 4 years, however, sources close to him indicated that he would not be serving the full term — as he has been credited for some days already. The source added, “He’ll be home in 10 months.”

Before his sentencing, we reported that Blueface, born Johnathan Jamall Porter Jr., was taken into custody during a court hearing on January 12 for violating his probation. The violation was linked to the assault of a security guard at a club in San Fernando Valley, CA, in 2021. After Blueface’s sentencing, his parents, Karlissa Saffold and Jonathan Michael Porter Sr., took to social media to update his fans and share how they planned to stay positive for their son.

Days after his sentencing, Blueface opened up about the verdict and said he was holding up, adding, “I’m in my environment.” On August 19, Blueface spoke with the ‘Effective Immediately’ radio show and said, “I’m in my environment, you know I’m always soak up and adapt to it. It ain’t really nothing. It’s like a little break from responsibility, honestly.” When asked about his daily routine, Blueface said he had been “jacking off, watching TV, eating Doritos, and using the phone, that’s pretty much it.”

On Friday (September 6), TMZ now reports that upon Blueface beginning his 4-year prison sentence, he was transferred from the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles to North Kern State Prison in central California. Blueface also had a new mugshot taken, with the site labeling it current as of Thursday (September 5). They also wrote that the rapper has entered general population at the medium custody facility and that while there he will have access to different jobs and classes to prepare him for life after prison.

To help keep Blueface out of trouble and prepared for life on the outside again, prison staffers will help him find fitting work and other educational and vocational opportunities available — like Adult Basic Education, High School and GED prep, and English as a Second Language Bridging Education. The rapper also has access to different religious services, self-help groups, and substance abuse programs.
